the trial, in the terms’ own words

  • Free trial

    New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. You give your payment details when the trial starts, and nothing is charged during it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and you are charged the price shown. A trial is for new subscribers only, one per person.

  • Renewal

    Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel.

  • Cancelling

    Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you are in.

  • If your subscription ends

    Your account and everything you kept stay yours. You can still open, export and delete it all, but the mate and adding new things need an active subscription.

Questions

What happens after the 3 days?

Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your plan starts and you’re charged the price you chose. It renews at the end of each period until you cancel.

Can I cancel?

Yes, whenever you like. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you’re in.

Where does my data live?

Your account is hosted in the EU, in Paris. Your mate runs on Anthropic’s AI, and OpenAI turns speech into words. Both are in the US, and under their commercial terms neither uses your data to train its models.

Is there a limit on my mate?

A plan includes generous use of your mate, with a fair-use limit on messages each day, shown in the app.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. It’s iPhone first.
